The legendary stamp “Russian warship, go…!” received the highest award of the international philatelic art award “Asiago” in Italy. The organizers themselves call the award the “philatelic Oscar”, reports Ukroposhta. Ukrposhta won the award for the best brand among 35 participating countries. The legendary brand The solemn ceremony and presentation of awards took place on July 23, 2023 in the Municipal Square of Asiago, Vicenza Province. Consul General of Ukraine in Milan Andriy Kartysh received the award for Ukrposhta. The Asiago International Philatelic Award celebrated its 53rd anniversary this year. The international jury of the competition includes specialists in philatelic literature, artists, philatelists, parliamentarians, and government officials. Previously, Ukrainian postage stamps were also celebrated by the world philatelic community. In 2021, the “Crying of the Carpathians” postage stamp under the EUROPA program “National nature on the verge of extinction” won “bronze” in the competition for “The best postage stamp of Europe in 2021”. In 2019, the postage stamp “Glory to Ukraine!” received the “gold” of the prestigious international competition Nexofil Award 2020 (Spain) in the category “The most original stamp format in the world”. In 2018, the “Insects of Ukraine” stamp sheet won three international awards at once – Grand Prix WIPA (Austria), Nexofil Award (Spain) and Asiago (Italy). It will be recalled that the words of the Ukrainian defenders of the Snake Island about the direction of the Russian ship were recognized as the phrase of the year 2022 in Lithuania, and the brand “Russian warship, go …” was recognized as the best in the world in 2022. Ukrposhta put into circulation a stamp with the response phrase of the defenders of Zmiiny Island about the Russian ship on April 12. The brand gained tremendous popularity both in Ukraine and abroad. However, Ukrposhta refused to reprint popular stamps, despite calls. Ihor Smilyanskyi explained this by the fact that stamps are “not toilet paper, and they cannot be printed in more quantities than the rules provide.” Read also: “PTN PNH”: Ukrposhta released a charity frame.
