A Ukrainian language marathon will be held for schoolchildren and students

From December 1 to 24, 2023, the IV Open Ukrainian Language Marathon will be held in Ukraine. Participation in it is voluntary and free of charge.

According to the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, the goal of the marathon is to develop students’ motivation and desire to learn the Ukrainian language. It will also help them improve their communication skills in various life situations and areas of communication.

The marathon will be held remotely in the format of testing, which will have to be held on a special platform. Different linguistic sections will be presented at each of the stages:

  • The first stage is word culture (lexicology, phraseology);
  • II stage – grammar (syntax, morphology, word formation);
  • III stage – spelling (spelling, punctuation, phonetics, spelling);
  • Stage IV – work with the text.

At each stage, participants will answer questions online. You need to take the test at a specially designated time:

  • The first stage – from 14:00 on December 1 to 20:00 on December 3;
  • II stage – from 14:00 on December 8 to 20:00 on December 10;
  • III stage – from 14:00 on December 15 to 20:00 on December 17;
  • IV stage – from 14:00 on December 22 to 20:00 on December 24.

To participate in the marathon, you must register. You can join during the entire period of the competition. However, marathon stage tasks that have already been completed according to the schedule will not be available for completion.

Participants will be able to immediately see the rating and overall standings in their category after each stage at the end of the marathon.

The winners will be those participants who scored the most points in the ranking order and took 1-3 places in each category of the marathon. Prize winners will receive diplomas, the rest of the participants will receive certificates.
