On October 21, the director and artistic director of the Pechersk Theater died of a heart attack Oleksandr Kryzhanivskyi. The 66-year-old director and actor was also known for his roles in the TV series “The Sniffer”, “The Return of Mukhtar” and many others. He has more than 60 roles in films and the creation of 25 plays.
“Today we became an orphan… Our Oleksandr Volodymyrovych died. We express our deepest condolences to his wife, Tamara Oleksandrivna, and son Volodymyr”– says the message of the Kyiv Academic Theater in Pechersk.
Kryzhanivskyi managed the theater from the beginning of its creation – from 2000. During the full-scale invasion of Russia, Kryzhanivsky, together with the actors of the theater, joined the work of the humanitarian headquarters of the Pechersk district.

At the same time, he provided constant assistance to the military unit 3066 of the National Guard of Ukraine, which in March 2022 guarded Pechersk.
“Aleksandr Kryzhanivsky provided them with food, sleeping mats and other urgent things with his own funds. Theater actors under the leadership of Kryzhanivsky during martial law were active in raising the fighting spirit of the military and the population.”– noted in the Pechersk district administration.
