Obviously, there will be a need for “gentle Ukrainization”. Because Crimea has been under occupation for almost ten years, as well as part of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions. Therefore, within the limits of dialogue, within the limits of reconciliation our understanding of the narratives they use, our sometimes imaginary constructions of how the population there thinks and does, it will require a more delicate step in order for Ukrainization to take place there,” Tkachenko said. And first of all, it is the language of dialogue. It is not the language that we should immediately do everything in the same way as in Lviv, but will require a dialogue of clarification. Therefore, the language dialogue for the de-occupied territories, in my opinion, should be one of the key ones,” he said. Tkachenko also said that a program to popularize the Ukrainian language has been developed in Ukraine, but it has not yet been approved due to lack of funding. It involves the creation of mobile applications, a network of free courses, the promotion of the Ukrainian language, the creation of a Ukrainian-language cultural product, and the popularization of Ukrainian literature, particularly abroad. “The project of the program has been developed, it is called “Strategy for popularization of the Ukrainian language until 2030 “A strong language is a successful state”.
