On December 23, the charity interactive Christmas exhibition “The Rising Star” will be opened at the Central Railway Station of Kyiv.

The exhibition is designed to acquaint citizens with the history and traditions of Christmas, reports Ukrzaliznytsia.

This year, for the first time, Ukraine will celebrate Christmas on December 25 together with the countries of the European Union and the USA. So we decided to talk about things that unite us in this holiday: from music and movies to customs and Christmas toys.

And most importantly, we wanted to support Ukrainians in the most difficult time in our history. To give an opportunity to feel and live how great hope grows from a small joy”– says the project organizer and Gres Todorchuk partner Yaroslava Gres.

The exposition will consist of three semantic blocks.

In the first chapter – “Spirit of Christmas” – you will be able to get acquainted with the history of the holiday, the most famous melodies, as well as see an installation about the confrontation between grandfather and the Christmas tree and various Christmas decorations.

In the block “Images of Christmas” five historical nativity scenes, a collection of trinity candlesticks, plates of the famous Lviv ceramic and sculpture factory, costumes from the movie “Pamphyr” and Andrii Khir’s performance “Bethlehem” will await visitors.

There will also be a zone for immersion in virtual reality, which will “transport” to other countries and times. Visitors to the exhibition will be treated to a three-meter exhibit from the time of the German Emperor Wilhelm II.

In the block “new joy” you can swing on a seven-meter swing, see “how the Christmas star comes down” and get predictions for the coming year.
