The channel featured stories about the lives of her six children: Shari, Chad, Abby, Julie, Russell and Eva. Ruby Franke had almost 2.5 million subscribers before the channel was taken down.

The arrest and charges came after the blogger’s 12-year-old son climbed out of the window of her business partner Jody Hildebrandt’s home and went to a neighbor’s house to ask for food and water.

According to the testimony of the man who called the police, there was adhesive tape on the child’s ankles and wrists, as well as open wounds. The boy looked exhausted and said that he had not eaten.

When the law enforcement officers arrived on a call to Hildebrandt’s house, they also found Ruby Franke’s 10-year-old daughter Eva there. She also looked haggard, according to a court document. The presenter was immediately arrested and charged with six counts of aggravated child abuse.

Police contacted the Utah Department of Children and Family Services. Four children were taken from the blogger and they were taken into custody.
