The eyes on the found head are directed upwards. Also visible is a curly hairstyle that falls on the neck and resembles a lion’s mane.
The city, where excavations are being conducted, was discovered in the 19th century. They are supervised by the archaeological department of the University of Düzce under the patronage of the Konuralp Museum.
The settlement has signs of a Hellenistic polis. Remains of city gates, aqueducts, Roman bridges, etc. are found here.
