Serhiy Zakharin from Kyiv created a steel shelter that can be installed in an apartment. He claims that his “Capsule of Life” can protect against fragments and does not deform even under the weight of 43 tons of cargo.
The developer told “UP.Zhyttia” about his invention.
Serhiy Zakharin lives and works in Kyiv. The man manufactures woodworking equipment and has patents for his products.
“I had the idea to create a “Capsule of Life” back in 2015, but I did not make drawings, but only thought about the project, and because it was not relevant then. However, during the shelling in the summer of 2022, I remembered my idea“, says Serhiy.

Then the inventor decided to build a shelter for three and six people. The weight of the steel cache is about 700 kilograms. The length of such a shelter is 2.1 meters, height – 2.1 meters, width – 1.1 meters.
According to the inventor, the heaviest part of the structure is 45 kilograms, and the capsule itself does not have a single weld – it is assembled like Lego, so it can be assembled in any room.

Serhii notes that he is testing the “Capsule of Life” on his own. There were several tests.
“First, I entered the capsule, pressed the trigger and a plate weighing 1,100 kg fell on me. The capsule survived. The second time they dropped an overall load of 43 tons on the Life Capsule. The shelter survived, so I am convinced that this is not the limit yet.” , – says the developer.

Serhii Zakharin is currently negotiating with a company from Spain regarding the production of such capsules for the general public, in particular for sale in Ukraine, Turkey and Israel.
He claims that such a shelter can also be helpful during an earthquake. The man did not register his invention with the State Emergency Service. He says that he does not need permission.
Serhiy currently has several customers. The first commercial capsule has already been installed in a private house of a family living near Boyarka in the Kyiv region.

The developer estimates the cost of “Life Capsule” at 70,000 hryvnias, but is looking for ways to make it more affordable for Ukrainians.
Also, the inventor is developing an anti-fragmentation barrier that will be able to withstand 7.62 caliber projectiles.
“But this structure cannot withstand a direct hit,” – he claims.
