Animal rights activists appealed to the police through the contact zoo in the Kyiv region on the territory of the “Golden Pheasant” recreation center. The zoo allows visitors to use lion cubs as photo props, UAnimals reports. “We were sent photos of people posing with lion cubs in their arms. The location of these photos is the recreation center “Golden Pheasant”, on the territory of which there is a contact zoo. We wrote to “Golden Pheasant”, pretending to be a potential visitor, and asked if it was possible to them to take pictures with the lion cubs. We received an affirmative answer (see screenshot),” animal rights activists write. Photo: UAnimals The Law of Ukraine “On the Protection of Animals from Cruelty Treatment” prohibits the keeping of large carnivores at recreation centers, as well as the provision of photo services with wild animals. “We want to remind once again the lovers of “little cute lion cubs” that they are separated from their mothers to make money from them, and when they grow up, they become useless. Really, have you ever wondered where and how those lion cubs are kept when they become huge lions? But what difference does it make if they buy the next baby in their place, right?”, – write UAnimals. Animal rights activists appealed to the police through a contact zoo in the Kyiv region. Animal rescuers remind that the Center for the Rescue of Wild Animals has already received exploited lion cubs – with numerous broken paws, mutilated, sick and under terrible stress. The zoo allows visitors to hold lion cubs in their hands to take pictures. The organization promises that they will fight against violators – because the exploitation and cruel treatment of wild animals is illegal. “We remind zoo visitors: your behavior popularizes cruelty to animals. It is also incredibly sad that people teach children to be cruel. Wild animals are not a thing or a photo prop!” – emphasized in the organization. However, it is forbidden to keep large carnivorous animals at recreation centers and to provide photo services with them. We will remind you that animal protectionists recently evacuated two lions from Kyiv region in a serious condition due to terrible conditions of keeping. The animals were taken to the Natalia Popova Wild Animal Rescue Center and UAnimals. Read also: Sick lion cubs were evacuated from Donetsk region: animal rights activists are asking for help
