“Tymko says: we have had enough of unstable spring. The spring can only be Ukrainian. So we are waiting for our warm Ukrainian spring in six weeks“, announced Nadiya Tokarska, an employee of the university.
According to belief, if the weather is gloomy on Groundhog Day (celebrated every year on February 2), and the animal cannot see its shadow, early spring will come. And if a rodent sees its shadow and hides in a hole, then spring will come in 6 weeks.

However, in the Kharkiv region, the marmot forecast is “deciphered” differently – taking into account climatic features.
Therefore, it is believed that if Timko does not rush into the hole on a cloudy day when there is no shadow, there will be no early spring.
Timko was also asked to make a “forecast” that would help the Ukrainians win. He ran to the signs with the inscriptions “patience” and “time”.
We will remind you that Vikenty the marmot woke up in the “12 months” zoo in the Kyiv region. About two weeks ago, he came out of his house and started walking around the enclosure. However, zookeepers are in no hurry to predict an early spring.
