Aerial scouts rescued a wounded serviceman of the Luhansk detachment with the help of a drone. “Bird” indicated to the fighter the direction of movement.

The story of the soldier’s rescue was told by the State Border Service of Ukraine.

Serhiy Kupin was wounded during the battle in the Swativ direction. Due to the too close distance to the enemy, they could not evacuate him.

“The distance to the enemy is too close: on one side – about 100 meters, on the other – 200, maybe 300. And it was not possible to get there safely.

We saw that he had already crawled a certain area, and we suggested that he crawl behind the drone to pull it to a distance where the infantry could come out and meet it.” – says the air scout with the call sign “Lug”.

“Friend, drink and crawl behind the drone”, – such a message, together with hot tea, was thrown to the wounded border guard by aerial scouts of the 68th separate hunting brigade named after Oleksy Dovbusha.

It was extremely difficult for the border guard to move on his own, but he still crawled 700 meters to the Ukrainian positions. Then his brothers carried him off the battlefield.

“I only wanted to be evacuated quickly, because I was scared, hungry, cold, and completely frozen.” – recalls the military man.

Serhiy is currently being treated in one of the hospitals, is recovering little by little and thanks the air reconnaissance fighters for their skill and care.
