Chemotherapy for cancer patients in Ukraine is free of charge. The service is covered by the Medical Guarantee Program in institutions that have signed an agreement with the National Health Service. This is reported by the National Health Service of Ukraine. Chemotherapy treatment also does not need to be paid for when transferring from another hospital or hospital unit. Cancer patients must receive the necessary referral to receive chemotherapy treatment free of charge. According to the National Health Service, during chemotherapy treatment within the scope of the Medical Guarantee Program package, the patient has the right to receive the following services free of charge: counseling, medical assistance, laboratory tests (blood tests, cerebrospinal fluid tests, molecular genetics, etc.), instrumental tests (MRI, X-ray, CT, endoscopic examinations, ultrasound, scintigraphy, etc.), medical observation and nursing care 24/7, oxygen support, intensive therapy, analgesia at all stages of diagnosis and treatment, psychological assistance, accompanying drug therapy, provision of blood components and preparations, drugs from centralized procurement of the Ministry of Health and other programs, as well as medicines and medical products from the National List, food in a hospital. To find a hospital where the National Health Service covers the cost of the service, you need to follow the link, then: in the “E-data” section, select “Analytical panels (dashboards)”, go to the dashboard “Concluded contracts for medical care of the population under the medical guarantee program”, on the third page in the filter field, select the region or settlement and in the “Group of services” – “Chemotherapy treatment…”. The dashboard will show all institutions that have a contract for the package, as well as their contacts. Cancer patients can also call the contact center at 16-77, and the operator will tell you the nearest medical facility with a contract.
