The Odessa dolphinarium “Nemo” reacted to the scandal surrounding the video taken by bloggers in which they play with fur seals in a hotel room. As they told “Ukrainian Pravda. Life” in the dolphinarium, the scandalous video was filmed specifically to show how the fur seals “are social and like to play with people and how positively they feel about the game.” “During the walk of the fur seal with its trainer on the territory of the hotel, they unexpectedly met bloggers with whom they had already managed to make friends before that. But together with them, they united and shot a video”, – says the dolphinarium. The facility noted that most of their animals were born in the dolphinarium, including fur seals. For them, communication with people is not only a part of their usual life, but also a vital necessity,” says the “Nemo” health center. The dolphinarium said that they do not restrict the movement of pinnipeds in the facility, fur seals and lions walk accompanied by a trainer in areas that are safe for them. “Every day, the trainers and their pets go for a walk in the dolphinarium, the hotel and the surrounding area in the open air. They love to bask in the sun, walk on the lawn, always inspect a new location with interest and curiosity”, – says the institution. Representatives of the complex also spoke harshly to animal rights activists, who demand the closure of dolphinariums and zoos. We will remind you that the video with seals in the hotel caused outrage on social networks, and the animal welfare organization Uanimals appealed to the police about the cruel treatment of animals. “Unfortunately, there is a certain group – vegan zooradicals – who, for the sake of hype, deliberately systematically create and distribute fakes on the Internet, aimed at creating intolerance and even hatred for any way of keeping all kinds of animals. They are against nature reserves, against zoos, against oceanariums , dolphinariums, against stables and even against keeping any animals at home, from parrots and chinchillas to aquarium fish,” the health center believes.
