The medical association says that the man visited the hottest points of the front: Troitske, Popasna, Lysychansk, Bakhmut. Roman was injured in the fall. “The defender lost his leg and arm last fall – as a result of being hit by an enemy projectile. It affected everyone around him then, but Roman was the hardest hit,” the hospital said. Roman himself remembers the moment of his injury in detail. “I remember that there was nothing to save. The leg was gone, it was lying in the boot on the side. The hand was hanging on the skin,” the soldier recalls. First, the man was evacuated to Druzhkivka in Donetsk region, where doctors amputated his left arm and leg. Then – resuscitation in Dnipro and long-term treatment in Kyiv. A military man came to Lviv to install prostheses. “Specialists fitted him with one of the best bionic prostheses in the world from a leading German company. On the second day with the bionic prosthesis, Roman was able to tie his own shoelaces,” the medical association said. Now the man is trying to return to his usual life. In particular, he has already sat down behind the wheel of a motorcycle. “Not so fast and not so functional, but I don’t see any, let’s say, obstacles. I can play with the child, help my wife. I can do something everyday in the kitchen, at home or near the house, I can drive a car or a motorcycle,” says Roman. The one-and-a-half-year-old son of a military man, Ihor, is already used to dad’s bionic hand. At first he was afraid of her because of the unusual sound, but now he loves it when his father gives him a high five. Earlier, we told the story of a soldier who got out of a burning tank.
