Four cases of infectious diseases due to the consumption of fish were recorded in the Odesa region during the day of June 24. Patients in a medium condition were taken to the hospital, the Center for Emergency Medical Aid and Disaster Medicine of the Odesa Region reports. Doctors diagnosed the patients with gastroenterocolitis, acute enterocolitis and two cases of food poisoning. One of the victims lives in Odesa. Other cases of infection were found in the residents of the region, namely, one of them in the Velikomykhailiv community of the Rozdilnian district, the second in the Kodym district, and the third in the Avangard village. “All four patients, in particular one pregnant woman, were hospitalized in a condition of moderate severity,” the Center notes. They reminded that there is a ban on swimming in open water bodies and fishing in the Odesa region. There is also a warning regarding the consumption of fish and seafood of unknown origin. Earlier we reported that the Minister of Health Viktor Lyashko called on citizens not to swim in water bodies in the territories flooded as a result of the explosion of the Kakhovskaya TPP, and not to eat fish from there in any form.
