On October 21, Sashko, a young man, came to a rally in Cherkasy with a poster with the inscription “My dad is in the army, and I’m asking for money for the Armed Forces.”

The photo from the event was published and signed by the boy’s father, noting that he was proud of his son. The photo spread actively in social networks.

On October 23, it became known that the boy’s father, Oleg, was killed during shelling in the Bakhmut district. This was reported by his wife Natalia on Instagram.

In the commentary of “UP. Life”, the woman said that her husband joined the army for the first time at the age of 18, having entered the military service.

Then, after returning, they met – the couple lived together for 19 years.

After the start of the full-scale invasion, Oleg wanted to join the army, Natalia says.

On February 25, he went to the Military Commissariat, there were crazy queues because of the mass of willing people. The man decided to return to civilian life, saying “my time will come – they will give a summons, I will go”. – says the woman.

Oleg’s time came in September 2022, when he was served with a summons. In October, the man started his service.

“He couldn’t help but go, because… Our acquaintance from Mariupol is now in captivity, besides, Oleg’s son always said that “how will he look Sashka in the eye if he doesn’t go?”the woman continues.

47-year-old Natalia herself was willingly ready to follow her husband. She says that she was stopped by children whom she was afraid to leave with their retired parents.

Natalia will announce the date and place of farewell to Oleg later on her social network.
