Volunteers rescued the dog Luka, who survived the tragedy at the Kakhovskaya HPP. Doctors diagnosed him with “post-traumatic stress disorder” (PTSD), due to which the dog tried to bite off its hind limbs.

The story of the tailed deer was told in the animal protection organization URSA.

Luka, along with nine other dogs, were rescued by animal rights activists. His condition was the most difficult.

Animal rights activists say: veterinarians gave Luka a disappointing prognosis, saying that “this is not life, but suffering”, and in this condition he will not last long, so euthanasia is the only way out.

During half a year of the tailed deer’s stay with the volunteers, its condition gradually improved.

“He made friends with other tails and liked to come into contact with people.

But at the beginning of this year, after the shelling, he got worse – the attacks returned. Every day it became more and more difficult to control them“, URSA continues.

Then the volunteers decided to transfer Luka to the animal rehabilitation and physical health center, and after a few weeks they noticed positive dynamics.

“Once again, we are convinced that special attention and an individual approach work wonders“, URSA notes.
