Orthodox and Greek-Catholic Ukrainian churches have decided on Easter services. Ukraine celebrates the second Easter in the conditions of war. This year, as in 2022, services in most churches will begin after curfew. In the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra in the Assumption Cathedral, the service will begin on April 16 at 6:00 a.m. According to him, believers will be able to consecrate Easter both on Saturday and throughout the day on Sunday. “We will see believers, pray together for the defenders of the Motherland, for Victory, as Christ overcame death, so we believe that with God’s help, a just peace and Victory for Ukraine will certainly come,” the priest said. The morning liturgy in the Dormition Cathedral on Easter will be conducted by Acting Rev. Archimandrite Avraamiy of the Vicar of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra from the OCU. Metropolitan Epiphany will serve in the St. Michael Cathedral. As reported by the KMDA, in Kyiv, people who come to the service before the curfew will be able to stay in the temple for the whole night. It is forbidden to leave the temples and be on the streets or other public places during the curfew. The KMDA noted that when an air raid alert is announced, clergymen and visitors must go to the bomb shelter. Curfew in the capital on Easter will last as usual: from 00:00 to 5:00. Life” noted that in the churches of the OCU, due to the curfew, the service will not be held at night, but in the morning. In areas where there is danger and ongoing hostilities, services will be held depending on the situation. “It’s hard to say. They will come out looking at the situation. The main value is people’s lives, not a religious ceremony,” Andriy Dudchenko said. Bishop Yevstratiy (Zorya), Metropolitan of Bilotserkiv, Deputy Head of the Department of External Church Relations of the OCU, in an interview with “Radio Kultura” said that believers who plan to attend the service should check with their parish or church what schedule it will be held. According to the priest, in some communities, the night service will still take place, but with observance of the curfew. “This is possible because there are communities that have a closed space around the temple.
