How to get a prescription for medicine if there is no access to a doctor? The Ministry of Health explains

You can get a prescription for medicine in rural areas, where it is not possible to make an appointment with a doctor, remotely. An electronic prescription can be issued by a doctor from the nearest settlement, the Ministry of Health informs. If the patient has a chronic disease and needs constant medication, the doctor can issue repeated prescriptions remotely. “A doctor from another settlement, by prior arrangement, can give you a repeat prescription for medicine remotely,” the message reads. The patient will receive an SMS with the number of the prescription and its repayment code, which must be reported to the pharmacist at the pharmacy. If you are not able to get an electronic prescription, a paper prescription for the necessary medicine can be written out by a paramedic at the local medical center, the Ministry of Health adds. Information on whether the drug is prescription can be found in the instructions for medical use of the drug or on the website of the state register of medicinal products. As a reminder, e-prescriptions for a number of medicines have been introduced in Ukraine since April 1: they can be obtained not only by paper, but also by electronic prescription.
