Oocyte collection is carried out by surgical intervention and is done under anesthesia. There are no side effects for men, for women they are infrequent and usually related to the operation. Egg freezing may not be possible due to some hormone-sensitive cancers. Genetic testing before the procedure is not mandatory, but doctors still recommend it. If a couple has been together for a long time and dreams of a joint child, it is possible to freeze an already fertilized egg. Biological material of men and women has no expiration date. According to Olga Malyuta, once a child conceived with the help of frozen biological material was born 30 years later. “Children are no different from those conceived naturally,” says the doctor.
