In this way, a woman can decide for herself when she will start her maternity leave. The Ministry of Health says that it can even be postponed to the postpartum period.

“If women give birth before the date indicated in the application, the maternity leave will be formed from the date of delivery. This process will not affect the total duration of the maternity leave and leave, respectively. Which, in turn, will not lead to a decrease in the amount of pregnancy and childbirth benefits”– the Ministry of Health notes.

The standard term of the MVTN is 126 calendar days, but for women who have given birth to several children or had complicated or premature births, this term is extended by another 14 days.
