Until 2021, before the Taliban seized power, there were 23 state centers for the protection of women in Afghanistan. Victims of violence could find shelter there. However, they have now been eliminated.

Representatives of the “Taliban” at the request of the UN claim that there is no need for shelters for women in the country, and also called them “a concept of the West”.

If a woman has been abused and has no male relatives or they are dangerous, she is “protected” by putting her in prison.

Otherwise, male relatives are asked to undertake not to harm the woman. Their “guarantees” must be witnessed by local elders.

It will be recalled that the Taliban seized power in Afghanistan in August 2021. Since then, women have been banned from studying at universities, playing sports, and visiting amusement parks. TV series and films with women cannot be shown in the country, and all beauty salons are closed.
