In the Donetsk region, 23 children have become orphans since the beginning of the full-scale war. Their parents or guardians died during hostilities. This was reported by the children’s service of the Donetsk regional state administration in response to a request from “Suspilny”. Currently, orphans or children deprived of parental care have been provided to orphaned children and placed in family forms of education. 15 children were taken in by their relatives. In particular, 6 children live in the families of a brother or sister, 5 – with a grandfather or grandmother, 4 – with an aunt or uncle. Two children live in foster families, and one child is in a family-type orphanage. All children were temporarily taken to a safe area. 7 institutions were evacuated to other regions of Ukraine, and 10 – abroad. Currently, orphanages are not functioning in the region. We will remind, earlier the Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights, Dmytro Lubinets, stated that Russia does not provide any data on Ukrainian deported children.
