In Kyiv, a 48-year-old man was sentenced for attacking a 12-year-old girl who was collecting money with her friends to hand over to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
A local resident tried to rob a schoolgirl, the Kyiv City Prosecutor’s Office reports.
As the investigation found out, in September of last year, while staying on Khreschatyk, the man noticed a group of teenagers playing musical instruments and collecting donations to support the Armed Forces.
After finishing the performance, the children placed the collected funds in the backpack of a 12-year-old girl.

The man followed the children and, catching up with the victim, grabbed her by the hair and knocked her to the ground.
Trying to pick up the backpack, the man from Kyiv dragged the child along the ground for about 2 meters.
The girl was saved by passers-by who stopped the man.
During the trial, the accused admitted his guilt in the incriminated crime in part – he claimed that he did not intend to rob the child and use violence against her.
“All of the prosecution’s evidence examined during the trial in its totality testified to the direct intention to commit this attack, and the man’s testimony is only a way of avoiding responsibility for the incriminated crime.” – the prosecutor’s office reports.
The man was sentenced to 6 years and 8 months of imprisonment under the article on robbery (Part 3 of Article 15, Part 4 of Article 186 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
In the comment “UP Life” the spokeswoman of the Kyiv City Prosecutor’s Office, Nadiya Maksymets, said that the children played musical instruments and collected donations in a violin case.
There were four children – three girls and a boy.
In total, they managed to collect UAH 1,811.
“After the attack, the girl was examined by doctors. She had sores and bruises. The children, as they had planned, transferred the money, which the intruder was tempted by, to the Armed Forces, to the 95th brigade for drones“, – added the spokeswoman.
Earlier, we reported that in Kyiv, a man tried to take the money that the child musicians had collected for the ZSU.
