The suspect transferred 340,000 hryvnias of donations collected by Ukrainians for the needs of the army to his account, the Kyiv City Prosecutor’s Office reports. As the investigation established, the suspect had an account for conducting live broadcasts on a popular website created to collect funds for the Armed Forces. “He learned about the vulnerability of this site’s software and decided to use it in his own interests. Having gained unauthorized access to the site’s virtual wallet, the man began to systematically withdraw funds collected by citizens from all over the world for the needs of the Ukrainian army to his own account,” the department said. . The actions of the suspect are classified under Part 3 of Art. 190 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine: fraud committed on a large scale or through illegal transactions using electronic computing equipment.
