On Thursday, January 11, a funeral service was held in Mykhailo Golden-Top Cathedral, where the memory of the fallen soldier and poet Maksym Kryvtsov was honored. About a hundred Ukrainians came to say goodbye to him.

Then the funeral procession went to Independence Square.

After the farewell, the procession will go to the burial place – Maksym’s hometown – Rivne. The funeral will take place on Friday, December 12.

On the evening of January 7, it became known about the death of the poet, the author of the hits “Yellow Scotch” and “Dominating Height”, a serviceman and a veteran of the ATO Maksym Kryvtsov with a call sign “Further”. He also became the author of the book “Poems from the Bitch”, recognized as one of the best Ukrainian books of 2023 according to the Ukrainian PEN. In addition to poems, there are also photographs taken by Maxim.

Maksym Kryvtsov participated in the Revolution of Dignity, and then went to the front as a volunteer in 2014. He fought as part of the 5th battalion of the Ukrainian Volunteer Corps “Right Sector” and together with the “Da Vinci Wolves”. Until 2019, he was a senior machine gunner in the Rapid Response Brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine “Rubizh”.

After demobilization, Maksym also worked at the Center for Rehabilitation and Readaptation of ATO and OOS participants and Veteran Hub. With the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Russia and the territory of Ukraine in 2022, he returned to the front again.
