In Kyiv, a school guard did not let two children into the shelter during an alarm because they were with a dog.
It happened on December 14 in the Svyatoshyn district of the city, journalist Tetyana Danylenko reported.
11-year-old Sasha and 12-year-old Bohdan, together with their Maltipa dog, went to the shelter of school #40 during the air raid. The security guard refused to let them in with the animal, but the children did not want to leave their pet outside.
When Sasha and Bohdan ran to find another shelter, an anti-aircraft missile shot down a missile above them. While they were near the shelter, they called their mother.

“When the girl called already in hysterics, because she was terribly scared, mother Lyubov had to leave work early to calm Sasha and Bohdan and understand the situation.” – said Tetyana Danylenko.
According to her, the director of the school assured that the guard could not have acted otherwise, because other schoolchildren could be allergic to dogs.
“UP. Life” tried to contact the head of the institution, but did not receive a response.
As Tetyana Danylenko points out, last year Sasha and Bohdan’s father, Yury Ovchinnikov, died in the Zaporizhzhia region as part of the “Azov” SSO.
“Terrible symbolism for the widow of the fallen hero – today’s situation with the children happened exactly in the place where her beloved Yura came to volunteer on February 24, 2022 and never returned home.” – she emphasized.

The police arrived at the scene. As the spokesman of the Kyiv police, Dmytro Hryshchenko, said in a commentary for “UP. Life”, law enforcement officers needed some time to open criminal proceedings.
“Criminal proceedings are not started directly at the scene of the incident. First, the evidence base was collected, witnesses were interviewed. Only then did the investigator enter information into the Unified Register of Pretrial Investigations.” – he explained.
Currently, we are talking about part 1 of Article 135 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – leaving in danger. It provides for restriction of liberty for up to two years or deprivation of liberty for the same term.
It will be recalled that on June 1, three people died in Kyiv, including a 9-year-old child. They were not allowed to enter the shelter of the polyclinic in Desnyan district.
