Since October, more than 1.5 million Ukrainians have contracted SARS, flu and COVID-19 – Ministry of Health

From October 2 to December 10, 2023, 1.5 million patients with SARS, influenza and COVID-19 were recorded in Ukraine. This is 39.3% more than in the same period last year.
This is reported in the Ministry of Health.
During the week of December 4-10, more than 155,000 cases of the disease were registered in the country, of which almost 85,000 were among children under the age of 17, the department notes.
During this period, almost five thousand Ukrainians, including more than two thousand children, were hospitalized with respiratory diseases.

About 11,000 cases of COVID-19 were also registered last week. More than 2,000 patients with such a diagnosis needed inpatient medical care.

The circulation of influenza viruses was recorded in four regions. In particular:
- influenza A found in Volyn and Kirovohrad regions;
- influenza virus B – in Ivano-Frankivsk and Rivne regions.
Since the beginning of the epidemic season, more than 113,000 people have been vaccinated against the flu.
The epithreshold of ARVI, flu and COVID-19 incidence is currently exceeded only in Chernivtsi region, the Ministry of Health says. In the previous week, 5,586,000 cases of SARS, flu and COVID-19 were registered there.
In the Zhytomyr region, the epidemic threshold corresponds to the average level — 8,738 patients. In other regions of Ukraine, the situation is stable, that is, the non-epidemic level remains.
