In Lithuania, an electric chair for people with disabilities was presented, which allows you to take a vertical position

Lithuanian company Chronus Robotics introduced the Kim-e two-wheel electric wheelchair, which allows a person with a disability to be in an upright position and control the chair with the upper body, leaving the hands free.

According to the company, the goal of the developers was to eliminate the discomfort experienced by people with disabilities in everyday life and when communicating with others. Therefore, the new chair helps to “get up” and practically stand in a few seconds. In addition, a traditional sitting position is also available.

“Disability often becomes visible only when there is a wheelchair. Our challenge was to make the person visible, while the disability and the chair remained invisible. Using patented technology, we achieved our goal: if Kim-e can be called a wheelchair, then only invisible”, – developers say.

The device can be controlled from a smartphone, as well as with upper body movements. Thus, the user’s hands are always free. It also has a battery that can be charged in three hours.

The advantages of the trolley are that it is maneuverable and more compact than the traditional one with manual control. With its help, you can move freely both indoors and outdoors, as well as off-road.

We will remind you that earlier we wrote about how to speak correctly about people with disabilities.
