A woman who wanted to sell her friend’s 11-month-old son for $30,000 was detained in Lutsk. The mother gave up the newborn child the day after giving birth, the Volyn Regional Prosecutor’s Office reports. According to the investigation, the woman took care of the unwanted son of a 23-year-old friend, whom she secretly gave birth to at home in April 2022 and gave birth the next day. The saleswoman was detained by law enforcement officers on March 23 while she was handing over the child to the buyer. Now the woman has been notified of suspicion under Part 3 of Art. 149 of the Criminal Code (trafficking in human beings). The sanction of the article provides up to 15 years of imprisonment. The 11-month-old boy was removed and is currently in a medical facility. In a comment to “Ukrainian Pravda.
