A 14-year-old teenager in Lviv received a gunshot wound from a pump-action shotgun. Currently, his condition is serious, but stable. Details of the incident were reported to the National Police. He was taken immediately to the intensive care unit. The doctors first stopped the massive bleeding and removed foreign objects (particles) from the lungs,” she explained in a comment for UP.Zhyttia. The boy’s right half of the chest, lungs, blood vessels are damaged. On May 31, a team of surgeons sutured the injured lung and removed two ribs. Now the child is in a medicated sleep on artificial lung ventilation. “Actually, there were two teams of resuscitators and a team of surgeons with the patient. They monitored the teenager’s health until the very morning. He was a critically ill patient, but he survived thanks to the coordinated work of the team,” the surgeon added. Currently, the teenager’s condition is serious, but stable. Doctors say that the schoolboy’s life is not in danger.
