In Odesa, a man beat a nine-month-old boy: details

In the Odesa region, a man hit the nine-month-old son of his roommate several times on the thigh, because he did not let him sleep.

As reported to the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Odesa region, the man was woken up by the crying of the child in the middle of the night. He “calmed” the baby with several blows on the thigh.

The child’s mother woke up and tried to calm the roommate, but he grabbed the boy’s face with his fingers and squeezed. After that, the woman turned to the local police station.

After the incident, doctors examined the baby. He had bruises on his face and thigh. Forensic experts classified them as minor injuries.

In the comment for “UP. Lyubov Gordiyevska, the head of the communications department at the National Security Service in the Odesa region, told Life” that the suspect was aware of what he was doing and was not under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

Together with the child’s mother, they lived in a civil marriage.

The man confessed to the crime. In the explanatory note, he explained that in this way he tried to calm the baby, but did not intend to harm him.

As noted in the Bereziv district prosecutor’s office, for inflicting light bodily injuries, the man is liable to liability, provided for in the first part of Article 125 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. He can be fined up to 850 hryvnias, community service for a term of up to two hundred hours, or correctional work for a term of up to one year.
