In Odesa, three children robbed a toy store: they were detained while trying to smoke cigarettes

Three children aged 11, 12 and 16 robbed a children’s goods store in the local market in the village of Velikodolynske in Odesa region. The children visited the store two nights in a row.
As reported by the Odesa region police, for the first robbery operation, the children took pliers with them, which they used to break the chain with the padlock at the market gate.
Later, with the help of the same tool, they broke into a children’s goods store and stole two toys and 3.6 thousand hryvnias in cash.
The next day, the offenders stole children’s goods worth more than 5.5 thousand hryvnias from the same store.

But even this was not enough for the children: later they broke into the trade pavilion with tobacco products.
“Children began to put cigarettes in a bag, but the guards noticed them and called the police“, – say the law enforcement officers. All stolen property and money were returned to their owners.
The police charged a 16-year-old boy with:
- theft, committed by a group of persons based on a prior conspiracy, with entry into the premises under conditions of martial law, in particular repeatedly (Part 4 of Article 185 of the Criminal Code);
- unfinished attempt to commit a similar crime (Part 3 of Article 15 of the Criminal Code).
The sanctions of the article provide for punishment in the form of imprisonment for a term of five to eight years.
Since the two minor children have not reached the age from which criminal responsibility arises, the law enforcement officers have drawn up administrative materials on their parents regarding administrative offenses (under Part 4 of Article 184 of the Code of Criminal Procedure).
The parents of the children face a fine of 1.7 thousand to 5.1 thousand hryvnias.
In a comment to “UP. Life”, the spokeswoman for the Odesa Oblast Police Lyubov Gordiyevska reported that all three involved in the offense are friends.
