On November 1, a teenager died on the Dnipro River in Horishnyi Plavnyi during training from a dam.

His body was recovered from the bottom of the reservoir after 4 hours of searching, the National Police of the Poltava region reported.

His boat capsized and his body disappeared into the water. Eyewitnesses of the incident called the rescuers, the police, and involved the public in the search.

Currently, the police sent the teenager’s body for a forensic examination to determine the cause of death. The investigation is ongoing.

The press officer added that the “Crimson Sails” yacht club has been training for a long time, and its pupils have won prizes at competitions in Europe.

However, the law enforcement officers started criminal proceedings under the article about improper performance of duties regarding the protection of life and health of children, which led to the death of a minor.
