In Russia, the release of the Swedish writer’s last book was announced Fredrik Buckman. After the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine in 2022, Buckman did not publish his books in the aggressor country.

We’re excited to announce that the final installment in Frederic Buckman’s Bear City trilogy, After the Storm, is now available for pre-order.“.

In the social networks of the author of the novels “A Man Named Uve” and the “Bear City” trilogy, there are no statements about the release of his book in Russia. At the same time under his posts in Instagram comments criticizing the decision to return to the Russian market are beginning to appear.

The publishing house also made a statement #book lover, which is published by Buckman in Ukraine. “In connection with the situation regarding the return of Frederick Buckman to the Russian market, we inform you that #knygolav has already officially addressed the agents and the author with a request for clarification of the pre-order, which was opened by the Russian publishing house“, – the statement says.

Fredrik Buckman – Swedish writer, blogger and columnist. His books have been translated into 25 languages ​​and published in 40 countries.

Backman made his debut in 2012, releasing two novels simultaneously: A Man Called Uwe and Things My Son Should Know About the World. The first of them brought the author international fame and was filmed in Buckman’s homeland. This film was included in the list of the most popular Swedish films of all time and received two nominations for the Academy Award 2017.

In 2022, the book was filmed in Hollywood – the main role in the film “A man named Otto” was played by Tom Hanks.

Another famous work of Buckman – “Bear City” – was released in 2016 and later became the basis for the TV series of the same name. In 2017, he published the continuation of the book – “We Against You”, and in 2022 – the third part, “The Winners”.

In Ukraine, Bakman’s books are published by the Knigolav publishing house.
