In the town of Almandralejo in southern Spain, criminals used artificial intelligence to spread photos of naked girls without their knowledge. This is reported by the BBC. Many photos were taken from the girls’ social networks. Then they were processed with a program that generates an imaginary image of a person without clothes. The victims were girls aged 11 to 17. Maria Blanco Rayo, the mother of a 14-year-old girl, says that one day her daughter came home from school and reported that her topless photo was online. After asking if the child took pictures of herself naked, she found out that the photos were fake. In addition, there were other injured girls – more than twenty of them. Most of the images are believed to have been taken in the summer. The police have already started an investigation and have been able to identify 11 local boys who are involved in creating the images or sharing them through Telegram and WhatsApp. They were able to draw attention to the incident thanks to the efforts of one of the girls’ mothers, Miriam Al Adib. She used her social media profile to spread concern. The suspects in the case are between 12 and 14 years old. At the same time, there are no specific norms regarding the generation of images of a sexual nature with adults in Spain. However, the creation of such material with the use of minors can be considered as child pornography. Violation of privacy laws may also be a possible charge.
