The translators of the computer game Hogwarts Legacy into Russian changed its original concept: the wife of the heroine Nora Treadwell turned into a “girlfriend”.
Treadwell’s phrase “Yes, she’s my wife” in the credits [Да, это моя жена – пер. РС] translated as “Yes, this is my girlfriend.” TJournal co-founder Nikita Likhachev drew attention to this.
“Mediazona” notes that this is not the only case when translators change the original plot of the game. For example, in the Russian-language version of World Of Warcraft: Dragonflight, the marriage of centaurs-gays was called “brotherhood”.
The game Hogwarts Legacy was released in February. Its plot unfolds in the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry in the Harry Potter universe a century before his birth.
