In the Khmelnytskyi region, a court sentenced a man who dragged a pregnant cow behind a tractor

The Krasyliv District Court of Khmelnytskyi Region sentenced 22-year-old Volodymyr Kryvitsky, who was accused of stealing school laptops and abusing a pregnant cow at the end of May 2023.
The man was found to have a limited criminal record and was sentenced to five years’ imprisonment, but was released from serving the sentence with a two-year probationary period. The court also charged him eight thousand hryvnias as moral compensation in favor of the owner of the cow.
During the hearing of the case in court, Volodymyr Kryvitsky pleaded guilty to the charges against him and apologized to the owner of the cow.
Kryvitskyi’s defense attorney asked to take into account the alleged sincere remorse of the client, as well as his illness – the text of the sentence states that the accused is of limited culpability.

According to the case file, on May 27, 2023, 22-year-old Volodymyr Kryvitskyi, being drunk, broke a window with a brick and entered the Pecheska gymnasium of the Krasylivska city council. From there, the man stole four laptops, which he hid nearby, and then returned for them with a tractor, writes Zaxid.net.
From there he went to the village of Antonina. On the way, he bought vodka, which he drank in a local garden, where he saw a cow. He tied her by the horns with a metal chain to the tractor trailer and set off. The tied cow did not have time to run after the tractor and fell after about 2.5 kilometers.
Volodymyr Kryvitsky continued to drag her along the road until the chain broke.
Locals found an exhausted cow in a field. Due to the injuries, the animal could not get up: it had bruises, torn skin, blown horns. Animal rights activists reported that after a veterinarian’s examination, it became known about the rape of a cow. However, this is not mentioned in the text of the verdict.
The owner of the cow, Lyudmila, told “UP. Life” that the animal was pregnant and was due to calve in a month and a half. After the abuse, she could not eat because some of her teeth were knocked out, and she only drank a lot of water. She had to provide long-term treatment.
It will be recalled that earlier in Malin, Zhytomyr Oblast, local residents and animal rights activists rescued a raped dog.
