In the Rivne region, a child fell into a coma immediately after birth and died: the parents blame the doctors

A one-month-old baby who fell into a coma immediately after birth died in the Rivne region.

The parents of the girl blame the doctors for this, the police of the Rivne region inform.

According to law enforcement officers, the child was born on January 17. Immediately after birth, the girl fell into a coma, and she was hospitalized in a regional children’s hospital.

It was not possible to save the baby’s life – on February 21, the baby died.

The girl’s parents contacted the police.

“The parents are sure that they lost their daughter due to the negligence of the medical staff of the maternity ward in the city of Ostrog, so they filed a complaint with the police.” – inform the law enforcement officers.

On the fact of improper performance of professional duties by a medical worker (Part 2 of Article 140 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine), the investigators started a pre-trial investigation.

In a comment to “UP. Life”, spokeswoman for the police of the Rivne region Maria Yustytska clarified that the girl was in the maternity ward all the time.

“A forensic medical examination has been appointed, which will establish the cause of the child’s death. After it, we will proceed further”– said the spokeswoman.

The sanction of the article provides for punishment in the form of imprisonment for a term of up to 3 years with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for a term of up to 3 years.
