In the Rivne region, a 42-year-old woman drowned her two young sons in a local quarry, where the three of them had gone to swim. She was charged with premeditated murder, according to the police of the Rivne region. According to the law enforcement officers, on August 23, around 11 o’clock, a local resident of the Varas district, along with her six- and seven-year-old sons, went to the local quarry to swim. She stood on the same platform and contemplated the inevitability of drowning,” – they write in Office of the Prosecutor General. According to the police, soon the 37-year-old father of the children ran to the reservoir and tried to save one of his sons on his own – he pulled him out of the water and began to perform resuscitation measures, but the boy died. The body of another child was later recovered by divers. The woman was informed of the suspicion of the intentional murder of two minors (paragraphs 1, 2, part 2 of article 115 of the Criminal Code). She confessed to the crime. In a comment to “UP. Life”, the spokeswoman for the police of the Rivne region, Maria Yustytska, said that the suspect had not previously been in the field of view of the law enforcement officers. “The woman had only two sons.
