In 1994, Lamar Johnson was convicted of murdering Marcus Boyd. Boyd was shot by two masked men on the front porch of Johnson’s home. The accused repeatedly stated that he was not at home when the attack took place. During the last court session, one of the witnesses changed his testimony, and the other confessed to the crime. According to a second witness, he killed Boyd along with another suspect, Phil Campbell, who pleaded guilty at trial nearly 28 years ago and was sentenced to seven years behind bars.
