In Turkey, in the city of Kayser, a local resident found an ancient underground city under his own house.

It has several levels connected by tunnels, Haber Turk reports.

57-year-old Mustafa Halijioglu lives on the street where one of Kayser’s tourist attractions is located – the house of the architect of the Ottoman period, Mimar Sinan.

Previously, the underground city, about 200 m long, was used as a living space, then as a barn, as a result of which a lot of garbage accumulated in it.

Later, houses were built above the city.

“We removed all the dirt and discovered a real city with three, and in some places four stories. It should be completely excavated”– said Mustafa Halijioglu.

It is noted that the man discovered the dungeon 5 years ago.

“We didn’t know that there was an underground city under the house. We used these places as storerooms and haylofts, it was scary to walk here without light.

In 5 years, we cleaned the city of dirt. Now our main goal is to preserve and pass this place on to future generations.” – added Halijioglu.
