In Volyn, a married man is suspected of raping a 16-year-old neighbor: he faces up to 12 years in prison

A 26-year-old local resident, who is suspected of raping a 16-year-old neighbor, was arrested in the Kovel district of the Volyn region.
Late in the evening on February 4, an intoxicated man illegally broke into a neighbor’s house and got into the room where the girl was sleeping, the Volyn regional prosecutor’s office reports.
The investigators established that, overcoming resistance and inflicting bodily injuries, the man raped the neighbor.

“The girl’s mother contacted the police”– reported the spokeswoman of the Volyn Oblast police, Olga Buzluk, in a comment to “UP. Life”.
The Volyn regional prosecutor’s office told us that the man is married.
“He crept unnoticed into the room where the girl herself was sleeping at the time”– said the spokeswoman of the prosecutor’s office.
The police immediately notified the man of suspicion under several articles:
- breaking into a dwelling (Part 1 of Article 162 of the Criminal Code);
- victims of physical injuries (Part 1 of Article 125 of the Criminal Code);
- rape (Part 3 of Article 152 of the Criminal Code).
The man faces up to 12 years in prison.
