The collection of DNA samples from relatives of missing persons who are abroad has been extended. It will continue as long as there is a need.
This was announced by the Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, Leonid Tymchenko, on the air of “Edynykh Noviny”.
It was previously noted that registration will last until January 15.
“Why did we specify January 15? We set such a date to make a cut and understand what need exists and in which states.” – explained Timchenko.

As of January 15, 84 people have registered for the selection of DNA samples – 37 of them – in Poland, and 20 – in Germany. They also applied in the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Italy, Spain and Turkey.
When the DNA samples are collected, information about them will be placed in the Central Register of Human Genetic Characteristics. Subsequently, they will be compared with the DNA profiles available in it.
To register for the delivery of DNA samples, it is necessary to fill out an application and send it to the e-mail address [email protected].
In the application, it is necessary to specify:
- your contact details (name, phone number);
- the address of the unit to which you plan to apply for DNA collection and the approximate date.
