Law enforcement officers named the preliminary cause of death of a boy who died after visiting a dentist in Ternopil
Law enforcement officers established the preliminary cause of death of a little boy in Ternopil who died after a visit to the dentist.
As reported by the Ternopil Regional Prosecutor’s Office, according to forensic medical examination data, the child died due to acute pulmonary and cardiac failure.
Investigators established that on November 13, 2023, a boy aged 1 year and 10 months was treated for teeth under general anesthesia at the Ternopil Municipal Hospital.
During treatment, the child’s blood pressure dropped. The boy was taken to the intensive care unit, where he died.

The investigation into the death of the minor child is ongoing. The police started proceedings under Part 2 of Art. 140 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine: improper performance of professional duties by medical workers when treating a child.
It will be recalled that the mother brought her son to the state clinic to remove caries from the child’s teeth. The child’s teeth were cleaned under anesthesia. During the procedure, which lasted an hour and a half, the child’s blood pressure dropped and she was hospitalized in the intensive care unit, where the boy died.
