In Ukraine, the website “Legal Navigator” was presented, which will help military families to solve their legal issues. You can use the service for free, reports the human rights center “Princip”. “Our lawyers have developed a legal navigator for the families of military personnel, veterans, prisoners of war, the missing and the dead,” the institution said. This is a basic legal reference that will help you find out: which authorities to contact; what documents to submit there; what benefits you can count on. Human rights defenders also wrote answers to frequently asked questions; what to do if the military does not get in touch? can one of the relatives apply to the military unit instead of the serviceman himself; what amount of alimony the serviceman is obliged to pay; as a defense attorney to go on vacation, etc. For relatives of prisoners, the website has information and an algorithm for searching for the missing. First, human rights defenders advise contacting colleagues. Next, call the hotline. (0 800 339 247). It works from Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. After that, you should contact the police, the national information bureau and the coordination headquarters. There is information on how to start your own search, etc. Families of soldiers who have gone missing can also get information on the website. Human rights defenders noted that the circle of members of the fallen defenders includes: parents; one of the spouses; children who do not have their own families or have children with disabilities; dependents of the deceased; children whose two parents died or went missing. Also, the site provides answers to frequent questions of native veterans: who can apply for utility benefits; what documents are required for this; whether children of veterans have benefits, etc. Read also: “I’m afraid that dad will be killed in the war.” How to talk with a child about fears and help them perceive reality
