Medicines against which diseases are free for children – the Ministry of Health explains

Parents can get medicine for their children free of charge against many diseases, including oncological and oncohematological diseases. This was reported by the Ministry of Health with reference to the list of free medicines. The list includes more than 15 groups of diseases: oncology; dwarfism; hemophilia type A and B; Photo: VadimVasenin/Depositphotos cerebral palsy (CP); children’s mental and behavioral disorders (autism, schizophrenia, epilepsy, etc.); cardiovascular diseases; orphan diseases (spinal muscular atrophy, Gaucher’s disease, etc.); epidermolysis bullosa; cystic fibrosis; viral hepatitis B and C; idiopathic familial dystonia; infectious diseases with a high mortality rate; multiple sclerosis; primary (congenital) immunodeficiencies; juvenile rheumatoid arthritis; pulmonary arterial hypertension. In order to get free medicine during the war, you should see a doctor and undergo all the necessary examinations. Based on their results, the specialist will prescribe the necessary drug. As a reminder, in 2022, 13 hospitals in Ukraine received free medicines for children with spinal muscular atrophy (SMA). This drug is one of the most expensive injections in the world – more than 100 thousand dollars per bottle.
