The streaming giant Netflix will release a documentary series “The Turning Point: The Atomic Bomb and the Cold War”. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyi will appear in it.

The premiere of the series, which will consist of nine episodes, is scheduled for March 12. The day before, Netflix presented its trailer.

The director of the series is Brian Knappenberger, known for documentaries such as Internet Boy: The Aaron Schwartz Story, Our Name is Legion: The Hacktivist Story. Also in 2021, he directed the previous series of this series for Netflix – “The Turning Point: September 11 and the War on Terror”.

The series “The Turning Point: The Atomic Bomb and the Cold War” will tell the story of the creation and spread of nuclear weapons, as well as the Cold War, which ended with the collapse of the Soviet Union, as well as the rise to power of Vladimir Putin and the subsequent invasion of Ukraine.

“Although the Cold War ended in 1991, even a cursory glance at today’s news headlines shows that relations between the United States and Russia – the former heartland of the Soviet Union – remain strained, to say the least. The global consequences of the Cold War continue to influence the modern geopolitical landscape to this day“, says the description of the series on the Netflix website.

The series contains more than 100 interviews recorded in seven countries of the world.
