Film director Christopher Nolan will receive a knighthood, and his wife, producer Emma Thomas, will receive a dame.

Britain’s King Charles III will award the couple for their services in the film industry, it is reported BBC and Deadline.

The British monarch honored the co-executive director of Netflix Ted Sarandos – he received the title of honorary knight of the order of the British Empire.

In early March, Christopher Nolan won the Oscar for best director for the film Oppenheimer, about the creator of the atomic bomb, Robert Oppenheimer.

The film, which was produced by Emma Thomas, collected a total of 7 awards at the 2024 Oscar ceremony.

Christopher Nolan and his wife also created such famous films as Tenet, Dunkirk, Interstellar, The Dark Knight, The Prestige, Batman Begins, Insomnia and Remember.

Title A knighthood or dame is one of the highest honors in the United Kingdom, usually awarded to those who have made a significant contribution to their field at a national level.

People with such titles have the right to add the prefix “sir” or “lady” to their name, respectively.

We will remind you that earlier the Ukrainian conductor Kyryl Karabyts was awarded an honorary order from the King of Great Britain for the promotion of Ukrainian music.
