Over 5,000 human rights violations were recorded in Crimea during the years of occupation

Since the beginning of the Russian occupation of Crimea in 2014, more than 5,000 human rights violations have been recorded there. They mainly concerned the Crimean Tatars.
Deputy director of the Ukrainian Institute, Alim Aliyev, announced this during the conference “Crimea is global. Understanding Ukraine through the South”, Ukrinform reports.
“Over the past 9.5 years, more than 5,000 human rights violations have been registered in Crimea. This mainly concerns the Crimean Tatars. Russia is trying to focus attention on the Crimean Tatars, exposing them as potential terrorists and criminals.” he says.
According to Aliyev, Crimea “has turned into a model of colonization measures for Russia.”

During the occupation, about 70,000 people left Crimea, and over 700,000 people came there from Russia. Among the visitors are both military and civilians.
“This is our joint war. And in this war, many Crimean Tatars, Ukrainians and representatives of other nationalities are now in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the front lines. This is a war not only for our territory, for our land, but also for our identity, for our dignity and for our future” – emphasizes Aliyev.
We will remind, among the Crimean political prisoners is the artist Bohdan Ziza, who poured blue and yellow colors over the “administration” of Yevpatoria. He was “sentenced” to 15 years of imprisonment.
During the 17-day protest hunger strike, the political prisoner lost 10 kilograms, due to which his health deteriorated. However, Russia does not provide any information about his current condition.
